David Weekley Homes has started to build two model homes in the Waverly mixed-use development in south Charlotte.
The two-story Equinox model, which is part of the “Executive Collection,” features 11-foot first-floor ceilings, a study and a curved staircase. The first floor of the more than 3,500-square-foot home will also have French doors, granite countertops, a master bedroom suite and hardwood and tile flooring. The second floor will have three bedrooms, three full bathrooms and a game room.
The Whitford model, part of the “Village Collection,” is a 3,100-square-foot home with a dining area with French doors that lead to a rear porch. The master bedroom suite is on the first floor.
The Whitford’s second floor will have three bedrooms, two full bathrooms and a “granny flat” with a private entrance that is accessible from the garage. The “granny flat” includes a large bedroom, kitchen, full bathroom and a storage room.
The two furnished models will be open for tours in January, a release stated.
When it’s completed, the Waverly development will include about 225,00 square feet of retail space, anchored by a 40,000-square foot Whole Foods that will open in 2016; a 141-room Hilton Garden Inn hotel; 264,000 square feet of office space; 60,000 square feet for medical offices, 365 apartments, 70 single-family homes; and 71 townhomes.
